Meet ACCESO Volunteer: Eleanor

During our 25th Anniversary celebration, we are introducing you to the dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to promote greater access to education. This month we meet Eleanor, ACCESO’s volunteer coordinator extraordinaire!  Whether she is keeping our group of volunteers organized or sharing her wisdom on the Board of Directors, we can always count on El’s incredibly uplifting spirit to energize our efforts.

I was introduced to ACCESO at the very first Sounds and Tastes event in 2003. That evening, I was moved by the work that ACCESO was doing to improve the lives of so many and quickly became a volunteer. A few years later, I became the volunteer coordinator for ACCESO and subsequently joined the Board of Directors. Being a volunteer with ACCESO has been a blessing and a privilege. I am proud to be part of ACCESO’s collaborative work because it’s the people who have positively influenced me the most. Our student recipients, project partners, fellow volunteers and donors inspire me every day with their hard work, generosity, collaboration, dedication, passion, thoughtfulness, intelligence and commitment to improving the lives of others in their families, in their communities and across continents. The people with whom I’ve connected through ACCESO always act with others in mind. It is a beautiful community of givers.
