Bolivia


In Bolivia, between 2001 and 2011, ACCESO International collaborated with a women’s centre to support educational, employment and empowerment opportunities for marginalized women, children and youth, especially for those who identified as Indigenous and/or were internally displaced.

In Canada, through our Back-to-School Project, ACCESO International has been providing school supplies to economically marginalized children and youth from low-income newcomer families in Ottawa since 2003, allowing them to study with greater dignity.

In Colombia, ACCESO International provided computer support for a primary school that served marginalized children in an impoverished area of Cali in 2009.

The Dominican Republic


In the Dominican Republic, ACCESO International has provided support since 1996 for schools, playgrounds, libraries, a community-based education council, vocational centres, summer camps, pre/post-natal and health education workshop series and post-secondary bursaries.

In El Salvador, ACCESO International assisted a community to rebuild its school which had been destroyed by a hurricane in 2009. We supported the reconstruction and replenishment of the school’s cafeteria, kitchen and storage area.

Honduras


In Honduras, since 2003, ACCESO International has supported human rights and skills training, women’s rights workshops, orphanages, homework centres, primary schools, high schools, radio-based distance learning, bursaries for girls and women, as well as dormitories that enable students from remote villages to continue their studies beyond grade six.

In Mexico, ACCESO International supported schools and extra-curricular learning opportunities between 2000 and 2009 by providing supplies and individual bursaries. We also assisted with the construction and refurbishment of reading rooms, homework centres, education-based recreational facilities and playgrounds, as well as through the support of creativity workshops and summer academic enrichment programs in multiple locations.

Peru


In Peru, ACCESO International has been providing post-secondary bursaries since 1998. Our financial support has defrayed the costs of tuition, transportation, books, supplies, accommodations and accreditation for bursary recipients who have studied at various universities and institutes and who have obtained degrees in the fields of architecture, business administration, education, engineering, international business, medical technology, nursing, and nutrition.
