Meet ACCESO Volunteer: Lisette

ACCESO International relies on a team of hard-working volunteers to promote greater access to education in our project countries. During our 25th Anniversary celebration, we would like to introduce you to the people who make it all possible. This month, please meet Lisette, a long-time volunteer and our favourite Dominican chef in Ottawa whose cuisine has delighted us year after year at our Sounds & Tastes event.

¡Feliz 25 Aniversario ACCESO International! For over 20 years I have had the most enriching experience as a volunteer with ACCESO International. I have been a witness to the profound impact that ACCESO has had on empowering the lives of many students in Latin America, especially on a trip with ACCESO to the Dominican Republic in 2005, where we visited some of ACCESO’s projects in Yamasá and San José de Ocoa. As a Dominican who has been in Canada for over 40 years, it is with a grateful heart that I say ‘Muchas Gracias’ to ACCESO for advancing forward the opportunities for many Dominicans through education for a brighter and better future.
